An insightful and engaging writeup. I am anglophone, residing (studying) in Montréal by choice, owing to my love for the French language.
I’d say more encouragement/support should be given to people like me, regardless of our accent, when we speak the French language.
Also, conversation classes for advanced learners, especially those interested in learning French.
