Very insightful blog post! I knew that French played an important role in Canada, but I ignored the diversity of dialects and the influence of Indigenous languages on Canadian French. The connection between Acadian French and Cajun French is particularly interesting! Also, learning about Michif and its blend of French and Cree is truly eye-opening.
It’s amazing how language evolves through cultural interactions. I’d love to hear more examples of borrowed words or unique expressions that set Canadian French apart from other varieties.
Thanks for sharing this—it definitely makes me want to explore Canadian French dialects more!
