L’adjectif inefficace s’emploie de manière absolue, sans préposition :
- Cette méthode est inefficace.
Comme il est fautif d’employer la préposition à après inefficace, dans certains cas, il vaut mieux éviter l’adjectif et reformuler la phrase :
- Cette mesure n’a pas suffi à enrayer le problème. (et non : Cette mesure a été inefficace à enrayer le problème.)
- Ce remède est inefficace; si vous avez le rhume, buvez de l’eau et reposez-vous.
