Le nom papetière, qui désigne l’usine où l’on fabrique du papier, est attesté au Québec. Ailleurs dans la francophonie, c’est le mot papeterie qui est utilisé.
Papetière s’est néanmoins répandu au Canada français et est correct :
- La fermeture de cette papetière pour une période indéfinie, à compter de la mi-septembre, entraînera la perte d’un millier d’emplois. (Radio-Canada Nouvelles, 2011)
- Domtar achète la papetière ontarienne E.B. Eddy pour 803 millions. (Radio-Canada Nouvelles, Revue de l’actualité nationale, 1998)
