Capitalize the words anniversary and birthday when they appear in the title of a card, scroll, banner or poster:

  • Happy 85th Birthday
  • For Your 50th Wedding Anniversary
  • Congratulations on Your 100th Birthday
  • 50th Wedding Anniversary of Jean and Jeanne

Do not capitalize the words anniversary and birthday in general writing, as in a letter or message:

  • Congratulations on your 85th birthday!
  • All the best on your 50th wedding anniversary!
