Beothuk is both singular and plural, although the plural Beothuks is also often used.
- Until their extinction in 1829, the Beothuk(s) flourished for thousands of years in the forests and along the rocky coastline of Newfoundland.
- The last known Beothuk, Shanawdithit, died in 1829 in Newfoundland.
