faze, phase

When the meaning is to daunt or disturb, use faze.

  • Losing his car in the vast parking lot didn’t faze my brother one bit.

For a stage or period, use phase.

  • What phase is your teenager going through now?
  • The third phase of the project is the longest and the most costly.
