The combining form multi- has two meanings.

Meaning 1: many

  • Canada is a multiracial country.
  • Yussef is multilingual: he can speak seven languages.

Meaning 2: more than one

  • A multiparous woman has had more than one pregnancy.
  • One type of multihull boat is the catamaran, which has two hulls.
