original founder, founder

Redundancies are words that unnecessarily repeat information. Because a founder is the originator of an association, a company or a movement, the modifier original in the familiar phrase original founder is redundant.

  • The founder (not original founder) of the company told reporters that Lunenburg’s Atlantic coast location offered many competitive advantages.
