A warmist, or global warmist, is someone who believes that the human race is primarily responsible for global warming (the increase in the earth’s surface temperatures over the last several decades). This term combines the ideas of global warming and alarmist to describe a person spreading the alarm about climate change and global warming.
Warmist began as a neutral term. However, today it is used as a put-down by coolists, or deniers, people on the other side of the climate change debate.
